Honey Bee Free Inc. is a nonprofit advocacy organization founded to reimagine what affordable housing can—and should—do for families.

Right now, too many families are stuck in survival mode. Rent is unaffordable. Childcare is out of reach. Food insecurity is rising. And the systems meant to help often leave people behind.

We believe that housing is more than shelter—it’s a launchpad. A foundation. A chance.

Our mission is to advocate for a future where housing includes holistic support that helps residents thrive economically, emotionally, and spiritually.

We’re building a coalition of community members, supporters, and changemakers who share this vision—because the time to rethink “affordable” is now.

Why the name Honey Bee Free?

Our Founder chose the honey bee as our symbol because it represents community, balance, structure, and sacred cooperation. In every hive, each member has a role—and through collective work, something beautiful and lasting is created.

The bee totem reminds us that even the smallest efforts, when made with care, can support something far greater than ourselves.
